ABSTRACT

Objective@#To apply and evaluate the effect of empowerment educational program on AIDS prevention and treatment among freshmen in one university.@*Methods@#The method of two stage stratified sampling was used to select the experimental and control group. The traditional health education was implemented among the control group, and the empowerment education was implemented for the experimental group. The effect of the two groups was compared before and after intervention.@*Results@#For experimental group, the awareness rate of AIDS(65.02%) ( χ 2=61.02, P <0.01) and the overall score of attitude and behavior(16.71± 2.53 )( t =-2.66, P <0.05) were significantly improved after intervention(82.96%,18.58±1.95). For the control group, there was significant difference in awareness rate of AIDS after intervention(67.70% vs 96.02%, χ 2=18.64, P <0.05), while there was no statistical difference in overall score of attitude and behavior after intervention(16.52±1.50 vs 17.16±1.57, t =-1.51, P =0.14). There was no significant difference in awareness rate between the two groups before intervention ( χ 2=0.36, P =0.55), but there was a statistical difference after intervention ( χ 2=20.42, P <0.01). There was statistical difference in attitude and behavior scores between the two groups after intervention ( P <0.05).@*Conclusion@#Empowerment educational program can improve the awareness rate of AIDS among college students, help to establish an objective attitude towards AIDS and infected patients, and to reduce high risk sexual behavior, also it is more effective compared to traditional education method.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the changes of soluble lectin-like oxidized low-density lipoprotein receptor-1 (sLOX-1) and omentin-1 in patients with H-type hypertension complicated with acute ischemic stroke, and to analyze the correlation of sLOX-1 and omentin-1 levels with the severity and prognosis of the disease. Methods Totally 136 patients with H-type hypertension complicated with acute ischemic stroke from February2017 to May 2018 were selected as observation group, and 136 non-acute ischemic stroke patients with H-type hypertension in the same period as the control group. The patients of observation group were divided into mild, moderate and severe sub-groups according to NIHSS score, and they were also divided into good prognosis group and poor prognosis group based on modified RANKIN scale (mRS) score. The serum sLOX-1 and omentin-1 levels were detected, and the correlation of sLOX-1 and omentin-1 levels with severity and prognosis of disease was analyzed. Results The serum sLOX-1 level of the observation group was higher, but the serum omentin-1 level lower than that of control group (P < 0.05). With the severity of the disease, the serum sLOX-1 level increased, but the serum omentin-1 level decreased (P < 0.05). The serum sLOX-1 level of good prognosis group was significantly lower, whereas the serum omentin-1 level significantly higher than that of poor prognosis group (P < 0.05). sLOX-1 was positively correlated with NIHSS score and mRS score, while omentin-1 was negatively correlated with NIHSS score and mRS score (P < 0.05). Conclusions The levels of serum sLOX-1 and omentin-1 are closely related to the severity and prognosis of patients with H-type hypertension complicated with acute ischemic stroke, which could be used as markers for evaluating the severity and prognosis of the patients.

ABSTRACT

Objective To study relationship between the level of serum ICAM,ALCAM,VCAM and PECAM-1 in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus combined with acute cerebral infarction and its meaning. Methods From July 2014 to December 2015,60 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus complicated with acute cerebral infarction were chosen as the research object. They were divided into three groups according to severity of atherosclerosis:no plaque in 11 cases,22 cases of stable plaques and unstable plaque 27 cases.40 cases with acute cerebral infarction patients and 40 cases of patients with type 2 diabetes were selected as a disease control;and other 40 healthy subjects were selected as healthy controls.ELISA were used to detect ICAM,ALCAM,VCAM and PECAM 1 level.Neural function evaluation was made by the U.S national institutes of health stroke scale (NIHSS).Results The ICAM,ALCAM,VCAM,PECAM 1 level in diabetic cerebral infarction group were higher than the other three groups, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05),while those of cerebral infarction group and diabetes group were higher than the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05),and those of cerebral infarction group and diabetes group has no statistical significance (P>0.05).NIHSS score of diabetic cerebral infarction patients was (7.39 ± 1.72),which was higher than that of patients with cerebral infarction group (5.33 ± 1.49),the difference was statistically significant (t=4.376,P =0.019,P<0.05).The serum ICAM,ALCAM,VCAM,PECAM 1 level of diabetic cerebral infarction patients was a positively correlated with NIHSS score (r=0.559,P=0.007;r=0.619,P=0.000;r=0.421,P=0.018;r=0.451,P=0.007).With diabetic cerebral infarction is aggravating, the severity of carotid plaques in patients with serum ICAM,ALCAM,VCAM,PECAM-1 level is on the rise (P<0.05).Conclusion ICAM,ALCAM,VCAM,PECAM-1 levels in peripheral blood serum of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus complicated with acute cerebral infarction have an abnormal increase, and ICAM,ALCAM,VCAM,PECAM-1 level is closely related to the neurologic deficits and the severity of carotid artery plaque of type 2 diabetes mellitus complicated with acute cerebral infarction patients.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE@#To study the regulatory effect of IL-35 on the balance of Treg/Th17 cells in AR patients.@*METHOD@#In this study, 30 cases were randomly selected from outpatients of otolaryngological department in the second hospital of Hebei Medical university who were diagnosed as AR. Another 20 healthy cases enrolled from physical examination branch of our hospital were control group. The expression level of IL-35 and IL-17 in peripheral blood were detected by using ELISA and defeced CD4+CD25+Foxp3+ T cell and CD4+IL-17+T cell expression level were identified via flow cytometry.@*RESULT@#The expression level of IL-35 in AR group was obviously lower than that in control group, and the difference was a statistically significance (t = -8.145, P < 0.01). The expression level of IL-17 in AR group was obviously higher than that in control group, and the difference was a statistically significance (t = 14.969, P < 0.01). There was a remarkable negative correlation between the IL-35 and IL-17 expression in the serum of AR group (r = -0.773, P < 0.01). The percentage of CD4+CD25+Foxp3+ T cell in CD4+ T cell was significant lower in AR group than that in control group (t = -13.678, P < 0.01). The percentage of CD4+IL-17+ T cell in CD4+ T cell was much higher in AR group than that in control group (t = 5.632, P < 0.01). There was a remarkable negative correlation between the Treg and Th17 expression in the peripheral blood of AR group (r = -0.613, P < 0.01). There was a positive correlation between the expression of CD4+ CD25+Foxp3+ T cell and IL-35. There was a negative correlation between the IL-35 and Th17 in AR group (r = 0. -594, P < 0.01).@*CONCLUSION@#The lower expression of IL-35 was related to the incidence of AR, and it was an important cytokines for that. The lower expression of IL-35 may inhibit the proliferation of Treg cells, lead to hyper function of Th17 cells, increase secretion of s IL-17 and result in unbalance of Treg/Th17 cells; these may be the important mechanism of the occurrence of AR, thus regulation of IL-35 may become a new target for the immunological therapy of AR.
